YEAR 11

YEAR 11 2024

The 2024 school year for our Year 11 students started off incredibly well. The students settled in quickly and were thrilled to finally have the STEAM building to occupy during recesses and lunches, providing them with a new and vibrant space.

In Term 1, the Year 11s became familiar with the demands of their VCE and VM studies. Many students took advantage of the Monday afternoon homework study sessions to enhance their study habits and organizational skills, setting a strong foundation for their academic journey.

Term 2 saw the Year 11s diving deeper into the realities of senior school. They experienced competing SN tasks, submitted SACS and SATs, and began trialing their first VCE exams. It was a time of adjustment, and the students truly began to understand the challenges and expectations that come with senior school.

In Term 3, most of our Year 11s attended the careers camp in the city. It was a fantastic two days, filled with both free time to explore the CBD and opportunities to visit some of Melbourne’s top tertiary institutions, including Melbourne University, RMIT, and the William Angliss Institute. The students also enjoyed some fun moments, such as a trip to the Village Cinemas and witnessing the fireballs of the Crown Casino gas brigade.

Term 4 concluded with final submissions of work. There were moments of stress, but also many laughs. It has been a joy to witness the cohort grow and mature into young adults over the course of the year. I wish them all the best in 2025 as they move into their final year of secondary education, confident that they will continue to thrive.
