YEAR 8

YEAR 8 2024

Year 8 in 2024 has been an extraordinary chapter brimming with adventures, academic strides, and remarkable achievements. This year has been marked by unforgettable experiences and significant accomplishments that will be cherished for years to come.

One of the standout moments was the unforgettable Waratah Bay Beach Camp. Year 8 students embarked on a memorable journey, fostering teamwork, resilience, and deeper connections with each other. The camp was a perfect platform for building lifelong friendships and embracing the spirit of collaboration.

2024 also saw the continuation of the 8A class, who this year, took on the role of ensuring the Container Deposit Scheme was managed throughout the school. As our Year 8 cohort continued to grow and mature, they consistently aimed to improve their GPA from term to term, with many students making dramatic improvements over the course of the year. It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 8 students valuing not only their education but also their involvement in and ownership of their own learning and school community.

As Year 8 ends, we celebrate the resilience, achievements, and vibrant spirit that have defined this remarkable year. The memories created and lessons learned will undoubtedly shape the future endeavours of our exceptional Year 8 cohort. Also, a big congratulations and wishes of good fortune to the four students who will be representing Korumburra Secondary College at the School for Student Leadership next year.

Finally, I would like to extend a big thank you to the rest of the Year 8 mentors throughout the year, for all their fantastic work supporting our students as both maths teachers and mentors this year.
