ART

Art in 2024, students across the school engaged in many exciting projects. Our dynamic team of art teachers covered art forms such as drawing, painting and sculpture for Years 7 and 8.  They created animals and sculptures out of Mod Roc plaster or wire. Students in Year 9 learnt about Banksy and used spray paint to create their own graffiti art. They also learnt about Mexican Day of the Dead culture to create their own masks. Students in Year 10 explored the world of cameras, studio photography and image editing in the Photography class. They also explored printmaking and artist inspiration artworks in Year 10 Art. In VCE Art students focussed on inspiration from traditional and contemporary art forms and artists to make their own artworks using materials they wanted to explore. They also visited Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery and Point Leo Sculpture Estate to learn about conservation and presentation of artworks, applying this to their own projects. They used this knowledge to showcase their works at the end of year Art Show.
