Salvation Army Visit

Year 9 Community Service students, who prepare meals for the Salvation Army, were visited by Australia’s National Leader, Commissioner Miriam Gluyas & SA/NT Divisional Commissioner, Major Paul Hateley.

They wanted to show their appreciation for St Philip’s ongoing support and service to the Salvos. St Philip’s have been helping raise funds and supporting the Salvation Army since 1970 and have more recently been preparing meals to help our community since 2008.

Commissioner Gluyas mentioned she first visited St Philip’s during a school trip when she was in Year 10. They were most impressed and appreciated the opportunity to visit our school and see our Community Service students work their magic in the kitchen as they made cottage pie and pumpkin soup.
