Foundationย students created colourful hessian weaving wall hangings, experimenting with yarn, ribbon, and fabric to explore texture, pattern, and colour. They showed growing confidence as they learnt how to weave. Students also had the opportunity to create festive Christmas crafts and decorations, showcasing their creativity and holiday spirit.
Year 1/2 students proudly completed their own wall hangings, strengthening their fine motor skills as they practised threading, knotting, and arranging materials with care and imagination. They also created pom poms and tassels, further developing their textile skills. In addition, students had the option to make festive Christmas crafts and decorations, showcasing their creativity and holiday spirit.
Year 3/4 students finished their beautiful paper plate tree weavings. They warped their own looms. Using a variety of colours and weaving techniques, they created unique tree artworks inspired by nature and seasonal landscapes.
Year 5/6 students completed their monster plushies and drawstring bags, applying the running stitch and blanket stitch to join, decorate, and assemble their textile pieces. Students also had the option to make festive Christmas crafts and decorations, expressing their creativity and enthusiasm for the holiday season.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy New Year. We look forward to another amazing year of creativity and learning in 2026!

Over the past two weeks students in all year levels have been developing their skills in tennis. The preps had an introductory session where they learnt how to hold the racquet correctly and how to hit the ball to themselves and with a partner. They started by having a partner underarm the ball to them along the ground and they pushed it back along the floor, then they progressed to hitting a ball that had been under armed to them by their partner and trying to hit them a catch. It was exciting to see them have some success in a short time.
In this last week of specialist classes, students had a choice of the games they would like to do, and they chose some of their favourite games.
The year 1-6 students continued playing tennis with the 56s have a mini tournament at the end of their lessons.
Students in years 3-6 continued their Bike Education programs as they prepared to get ready for their small ride and big ride outs over the next two weeks.
Students participating in the bike education program have thoroughly enjoyed being involved and have developed their riding skills and confidence. They have also developed and enjoyed working with their peers and developing their social skills.ย
The teachers and staff have been extremely impressed with their efforts and their cooperation.
Well done to all students on a wonderful year in PE, and I am looking forward to working with them all again in 2026.ย

The year in the library has come to an end. We ran many successful days and events, and are already looking forward to 2026!
ย
The library now boasts 7119 books and puzzles. 73% of our resources are fiction, and 27% are non-fiction. In 2025, an incredible 5817 books were borrowed.
ย
Our Reader Leader for 2025 is Eloise who borrowed 99 books! Amazing effort. The class who borrowed the most was 2B with an incredible 734 books. Congratulations!
ย
We ran two Scholastic Book Fairs this year, and made almost $10,000 combined. We also raised over $10,000 through our second Le Page Readathon.ย
ย

ย
Miss Diggins bravely faced the spice challenge this week. The kids loved it, and Miss Diggins was able to leave (almost) unscathed. Thank you again for putting your tastebuds on the line to help us make those book fair dollars, Miss Diggins!
ย

ย
We ran our first ever spelling bee, too, which was a massive success with 41 kids coming to participate weekly.
ย

ย
Our Story Dogs program really took off this year; we now have three teams reading to primarily year 2 students: Alina and Chili; Becky and Alec; and Susan and Billy. A massive thank you to the three of you for putting in time and effort to help kids at our lovely school.ย

Book Week was very well received, and the highlight was our annual costume parade. We also ran a special event for Simultaneous Storytime again.ย
ย

ย
Throughout the year, we had multiple authors visit the school and speak to the kids about what it takes to write and publish a book, and show them how to create characters and storylines. These included an online session with Anh Do; and in-person visits with Catriona Hoy and Dean Rankine. The kids loved the opportunity to meet real-life authors and learn from them.

ย
I also want to take this opportunity to thank this yearโs Library Captains, Noah and Riley. They had many amazing ideas and were incredible helpers. Now to welcome Jade and Melody as Library Captains for 2026! I cannot wait to hear about your innovations.ย
ย

ย
On Monday, all Library Leaders will be in the library all day to help tidy, organise, catalogue and more, ready for 2026.
ย
I hope everyone has a restful break, and keeps on reading!
