Amazing 5/6

Term 4 - Week 10

A message from the teachers

With only a few more days to go everything is coming to a head, with big events, big emotions and big changes on the horizon. I don’t know about our parent group, but everyone at school in 5/6 is beginning to feel the strain of the end of the year. The teaching staff have been asking the students to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes at this time of year and to have compassion, empathy and mindfulness in how we all interact with one another. We want the best finish to 2025 possible, and not it to be remembered for the wrong reasons.

The work hasn't stopped however, even with everything coming up. The cohort has been hard at work on their ‘Natural Disaster Expo’ projects and they have all done an amazing job. Their dioramas, information reports and displays have really come together and the students should feel proud of their last piece of work this year.

Our end of year events are all on the horizon as well, and I think everyone is looking forward to a break. It will be terribly sad watching our Year 6’s leave, they are such a wonderful cohort of kids. Our new Year 5 leaders have been chosen, and we believe they have what it takes to fill some very big boots.

From the 5/6 team, we want to thank our parent community for your support, understanding and transparency with everything that we have done this year. It has made the year one of highlights, growth and successes and we couldn’t have done that unless we all worked together to support the students. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas and gets ready for a positive 2026.
