Taronga Zoo Excursion

Our Year 12 Geography students recently enjoyed an engaging and insightful excursion to Taronga Zoo as part of their Global Sustainability studies.
Throughout the day, students explored how Taronga integrates sustainable tourism practices across its exhibits and operations, using their fieldwork booklet to investigate real-world strategies in action. From learning about innovative water management systems and wildlife conservation programs to analysing the Zoo’s waste reduction initiatives and sustainability presentations, students gained a deeper understanding of how global sustainability principles can be applied in tourism environments. This hands-on experience not only supported their fieldwork skills, but also strengthened their awareness of the role individuals and organisations play in protecting our planet.
