Year 9: Making a Difference and Having Fun
Year 9 students have had a wonderful year, and I am proud to acknowledge the many outstanding results reflected in their academic reports. Our students have shown commitment, growth, and the confidence to apply their skills, knowledge and understanding across all areas of learning. Three highlights for me this year were:
- Year 9 Camp – a fantastic opportunity for teamwork, resilience and connection
- Rewards Day – recognising and celebrating positive choices and hard work
Peer Support Leadership Day – where students stepped up, built leadership skills and prepared to guide our incoming Year 7 cohort
Year 9 should be incredibly proud of their achievements and the positive contributions they’ve made to our school community.

Farewell to Josh Dunn – Our HT Wellbeing
We farewell and acknowledge the dedication of a fantastic leader, Josh Dunn, who has led our Wellbeing Team for over five years with unwavering commitment, passion and enthusiasm. During his time at Cecil, Josh has made a profound difference in the lives of countless students, always approaching his work with compassion and treating each young person with the care he would give his own.
We sincerely thank Josh for his great contributions across so many areas of wellbeing and for the positive impact he has had on our whole school community. Staff and students alike will miss him enormously.
Josh, we wish you all the very best as you enjoy being closer to your family and reclaim the many hours once spent travelling, hopefully now invested in your own wellbeing and plenty of surfing on the Central Coast. Thank you for everything, Josh. You will always be part of the Cecil family.
