Celebrating Success

Our Duke of Edinburgh's Award Achievers!

We are thrilled to celebrate the dedication and hard work of our students who participated in this year's Duke of Edinburgh's (DofE) Award program. This challenging and rewarding scheme encourages young people to develop crucial life skills, give back to their community, and push their personal boundaries.

We are incredibly proud to announce that eight of our brilliant students have successfully completed all sections of the Bronze Award! This is a significant achievement that demonstrates their commitment, perseverance, and teamwork.

The Bronze Award requires participants to dedicate time over several months to complete four distinct sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skill, and Expedition. Our students excelled across the board, assisting with various school clubs and local charity initiatives, improving their fitness in sports like running and rock climbing, and developing new talents such as singing and photography.

The highlight for many was the challenging Bronze Expedition section.

  • The practice journey involved a successful one-day hike, including a strenuous day of navigation around Paddy's River Dam.

  • The qualifying journey saw the students travel to the Long Plains region of Kosciuszko National Park. They navigated the stunning landscape and completed their challenging overnight camp at the picturesque Blue Water Holes.

Carrying all their equipment, cooking their own meals, and demonstrating excellent map-reading and campcraft skills, the students showed superb teamwork, leadership, and resilience.

Congratulations!

Please join us in offering our warmest congratulations to the eight students, Ned,  Celeste, Jaya, Hamish, Charles, Ella, Juliette and Olivia, who achieved their Bronze Award this year. They have gained confidence, learned new skills, and created lasting memories. The DofE Award is highly respected, and their achievement will undoubtedly open doors for them in the future.

We look forward to encouraging even more students to take on the challenge of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award next year!
