Year 10 PASS Surf Trip

The Year 10 Physical Activity and Sports Studies (PASS) students recently enjoyed an action-packed three-day excursion, combining practical skills development with an incredible outdoor education experience based at scenic Chowder Bay.
This trip was a huge success, providing students with valuable exposure to a variety of aquatic activities and offering a spectacular backdrop for their studies.
Students fully immersed themselves in the stunning surrounds of Sydney Harbour, participating in a range of water sports designed to enhance their physical abilities and teamwork: Students enjoyed kayaking, snorkelling and Stand-Up Paddle boarding whilst navigating the harbour waters, developing their balance, coordination, and paddling techniques.
The evenings provided a memorable contrast to the daytime activities. The group enjoyed a wonderful dinner, taking in the breathtaking views overlooking Circular Quay and the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was a perfect opportunity for students to relax and reflect on the day's achievements.
The highlight of the camp was undoubtedly the surfing session at Manly Beach. Under the guidance of professional instructors, students learned about beach safety, wave dynamics, and the thrilling basics of surfing. Every student gave it their all, showing great courage and perseverance as they tackled the waves, with many successfully riding their first wave to the shore!
We are incredibly proud of all the Year 10 PASS students. They demonstrated excellent, enthusiasm, and responsibility throughout the entire trip. Their conduct and engagement ensured a positive and safe experience for everyone, truly representing the College with distinction.
Thank you to Mrs Byrne for organising the trip and Mr McNamara, Mrs Kendall and Mr Hamblin for accompanying the trip.
