St Louis de Montfort is celebrating 60 years
Good afternoon, St Louis families,
I hope you are starting to get ready for summer and Christmas.
I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr Thomson Wood as the second Deputy Principal at St Louis. I am delighted to be working with Thomson on the senior leadership team next year.
Farewell to staff
Ms Lena Perriman is leaving St Louis and returning to Hobart to be with her family. I thank Lena for the wonderful job she has done in teaching our students over the last 4 years. I wish Lena all the very best with the next stage of her life.
Mr Nick Packer is leaving St Louis’ after being the music teacher for over 20 years. I wish Nick all the very best for the next stage of his life and the adventures that will cross his path.
Swimming Training – Years 3-6
Our last training session for this year is on Wednesday, 3 December
It is at Toby Haenen, Chelsea Heights, from 7-8 am.
State Title for Softball – Monday 24 Nov
Well done to our Year 6 softball team, who came 3rd in the State. Thank you to Mr Giosis for his outstanding coaching and support, and thank you to the parents and grandparents for supporting the team.
School Library – Overdue books
The library is now closed for the year. Please look for any library books at home, as we have 600 overdue books.
Swimming / Beach Safety
Swimming lessons for P-2 start this week. Please read your child’s class page in this newsletter for more information.
Beach Safety for Years 3-6 will run over the next 2 weeks. Each level will have a day at the beach to learn safety and have fun.
Kids on Keys Concert
Congratulations to all the students who performed in the Kids on Keys concert this week. What a talented group of young musicians we have at St Louis. Thank you to the parents who attended and showed their support.
School Choir
The school choir will perform on Tuesday for the parish Christmas lunch.
Prep orientation
On Wednesday, 3 December, we will have our final prep orientation.
Move-up day for the whole school will be Monday, 15 December, when students will spend time with their new teacher and classmates.
Swimming Carnival
The senior swimming carnival will be on Friday, 5 December at Mentone Aquatic Centre. Parents cannot attend, as the pool will be at full capacity with all our students and staff.
Christmas Wellbeing market
On Friday, 5 December, from 3.15 pm to 5 pm, we will have a Christmas market. There will be a sausage sizzle after school. Everyone is welcome.
