From the Principal

It has been wonderful to welcome back students, staff, and families to Oxley Christian College for the start of the new school year. We extend a warm greeting to all the new students and families joining our College community for the first time. I would also like to welcome the new staff members who have joined our team. The first few days of school are always special as students, staff, and families gather at school and develop new connections in preparation for the year ahead.

On the first day of school, we were delighted to welcome students from Prep and Year 7. These year levels are significant transitional years in our students’ learning journeys, and we are committed to supporting them. Our staff also enjoyed meeting new parents at our First Day Morning Teas, building connections within our College community. Likewise, we valued the opportunity to support families in developing connections with one another at these events.

May I take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding results achieved by the VCE students at Oxley in 2025 with the support of the staff at the College. We are delighted to share that 21% of students achieved an ATAR exceeding 95. The College had a median study score of 33, which is an outstanding outcome. We especially congratulate Eshan Cai as the College Dux with an outstanding ATAR of 99.80.

It has been lovely to hear feedback from many students regarding their successful entry into their preferred courses and pathways in preparation for the year ahead. We continue to pray for our graduates as they commence this next exciting chapter in their lives. May I also extend gratitude to our team of staff, including our VCE teachers, Senior School teachers, Middle School teachers, Junior School teachers, support staff and general staff, who all supported our students throughout their learning journey.

It was my pleasure to launch the College’s theme for 2026 at several school events during the first two weeks of Term 1. Each year at Oxley Christian College, we have a school theme that encourages, guides, inspires, and challenges us as a Christian community in the year ahead. Our theme this year is Following the Way. Throughout the year, we will reflect on and be encouraged by the following Bible verse:

The theme Following the Way grows out of our 2025 focus on Connection, which highlighted our dependence on God and the significance of life together in community. This year, we are invited to deepen that connection by recognising that our relationship with God is not only about prayer, but about a journey. A journey of walking with Him, learning from Him, and being shaped to reflect Him in the way we think, speak, and live.

At Oxley, we are passionate about the holistic formation of every student. Throughout the year ahead, we remain committed to cultivating students of distinction—Scholars of Character who embody wisdom, virtue, and a thirst for truth. I am excited to see further implementation of our Biblical Worldview Framework into our curriculum documentation throughout the year ahead. Our staff will be embedding a framework that enables us to intentionally plan our Christ-centred curriculum, supporting students in encountering Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. Our Vision at Oxley highlights our desire to see our students delight in God’s love through inspired learning. We look forward to a wide range of special events during Term 1 to support our students' learning and formation.

As we reflect on our 2026 theme, Following the Way, we renew our collective desire as a school community to walk in the footsteps of Christ. Guided by His example and teachings, with help from the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to journey together in faith, allowing His presence to lead and inspire us throughout the year ahead.

I look forward to connecting with you throughout the year.

Working together,
