Endeavour House News

An incredible year at Endeavour House!
In 2025, we launched the new GSG Boarding Junior co-ed concept and, wow! What a year.
I would like to acknowledge the significant efforts of our students to truly make it work. At the beginning of the year, many of us wondered how this new way would play out. As always, our students have proven themselves to be adaptable, respectful, and capable of thriving in a variety of environments.
The GSG Boarding Junior co-ed model has been incredibly popular within the wider community, meeting parents’ desire for strengthened, age-appropriate support in a family-like environment for their young children who are far from home. We are thrilled by the enthusiasm and strong enrolments and look forward to seeing the joy, passion, and purpose our next generation of boarders will bring to boarding life in 2026.
Orientation
Meeting our incoming 2026 Junior Boarders and their families at Orientation last week was an absolute highlight!
The atmosphere was filled with excitement (and a few, understandable, nerves), but what stood out most was the incredible support shown by our current boarders.
Thank you to all the students who supported and encouraged our new students during Boarding Orientation.
Their warmth and willingness to share real-life boarding tips made a huge difference. After all, nobody understands boarding life better than those living it every day. This peer-to-peer guidance has been invaluable in helping our new students feel prepared and confident for the journey ahead. We excitedly await the arrival of our new students in 2026.
Transition
Amongst the Orientation program for new students, our existing Junior boarders were involved in a two-night Senior sleepover and transition experience in Breaksea and Eclipse houses.
Thank you to Ms Liz Stewart and Mr Brodie Sarre for welcoming, caring and guiding the juniors, giving them a little taste of all the wonderful things they can look forward to on our campus, privileges absolutely worth waiting for.
The Wild West Bowling rec on Friday was also a fantastic way for us to come together as a boarding community and celebrate all the good times we have together. Bring on 2026!
Thank You
- To our Endeavour students: You have shown courage, experienced significant personal growth, and demonstrated empathy, friendship, and leadership.
- To our Boarding families: You are never far from our minds. We deeply appreciate the trust you place in us every day, and we hope we have surpassed your expectations—that is always our goal.
To our Boarding staff: Thank you for showing up and making a difference every shift. From hide-and-seek games and bean bag sleepovers to cricket ball near misses, lost uniforms, milkshake spills, and prep shenanigans—you’ve handled it all with care, respect, understanding, and professionalism.
Farewell to Our Gappies
Our international gap students have made a massive contribution to our community this year—not only through prep but also recreation and activities around Boarding. A special thank you and farewell to three very special people: Kyle Kovacs, Amy van der Merwe, and Handre De Bruin.
We also thank Ashlee Hepburn, who will return to complete the second half of her Gap experience in the new year. Your contribution so far has been wonderful, thank you Ashlee!
Holidays
Our boarders are ready for the holidays and should be proud of how they’ve finished the year. It can be challenging to keep the wheels turning during final assessments and the excitement of the break, but we’re nearly there! Remember—it’s important to finish as strongly as you started.
I sincerely wish all students and families a safe, happy holiday and a relaxing break from routines.
Birthdays
This term we celebrated the birthdays of: Lani Marsh, Isaiah Carpio, Matthew Severin, Brooklyn Kirk, Bailey Ettridge, and Indigo O’Neill.
A big happy birthday to our holiday babies: Harry Newfield and Cleo Edwards!

Reflections from 2025 GAP Assistants
My time at GSG has been so much fun so far, and I’ve learned so much along the way.
I’m truly grateful for every moment and every person who has made this year special.
Joining halfway through the year, I was worried, but the other GAP students welcomed me in and made me feel like I’d been a part of it since the beginning. I’m so grateful to have met them and I will miss them dearly.
I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing everyone again at the start of 2026!
I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and are excited for next year and the adventures to come.
Ashlee Hepburn | 2025 GAP Assistant
