From the Principal

Dear families,
We only have a couple of weeks to go and like always they are full, with excursions, Presentation Day and other things keeping all of us busy and active.
Swim School
Each day for the next two weeks, Primary students and some Secondary students are building their skills through the annual Swim School Program and Friday is seeing students in Years 3 to 11 swimming for sport. Please remind your children to bring their swimmers, googles (if needed), rash vest or shirt and a towel. School provides sunscreen before students head to the pool, but everyone is encouraged to bring their own and practise good sun safety. If a student does not have the right equipment, they will head over to the pool with their class and do all the safety aspects and watch the lesson so that they are prepared for the next day. We all know the importance of water safety in this country and are lucky to be able to provide the opportunities for all students to develop their skills and confidence.
Careers
Last week, Mrs Lord and I attended a careers symposium for regional, rural and remote schools. Mrs Lord presented to the group the things that are done to support all our students in broadening their horizons in the area of working beyond school. Year 10 students also met with others from the six RAP schools in Wagga Wagga, attending a week long work experience and have come back, not only having made new friends, but knowing areas they want or do not want to be working in. This week and next week we have four more students out on work experience trying their skills in trades. If you know of a business who would be willing to support our students to gain valuable experiences, we would love to connect with you. Please contact the school and let us know how we can build strong partnerships.
Attendance
Some families will be getting letters sent home for unexplained absences. If you get one of these letters, please record the reasons and return them. Thank you for those families who have sent them back. You can also pre-explain leave through the Sentral App if leave is known ahead of time.
End of Year
We are gearing up for the Christmas period, and we have the Christmas songs pumping and staff are already dressed to impress. Students are busy preparing to showcase their talents and reports are being finalised.
