Maths Challenge

Congratulations to Grade 1/2  Edwards for winning this fortnight's Maths Challenge!

Here is our next Maths Challenge for the term!

What we have been up to...

We had fun last week celebrating Book Week! It was great to have so many visitors on Monday morning to share reading with the students. Each day for reading, we looked at one of the books that were shortlisted for the 2025 CBCA Book of the Year Awards Picture Book. The highlight of the week once again was our whole school parade on Friday.

For writing, the students have been working on publishing one of their favourite pieces of writing from this year. They were guided through a lesson on how to proof-read, edit and up-level their writing. They are now in the process of writing their final drafts and then will have the opportunity do do some illustrations.

In Mathematics, the students have enjoyed learning about multiplication and division. We have been practising the 2 Times Tables and learning how to share collections into groups of 2, 5 and 10. Please note that students are not expected to master their multiplication facts at the Grade 1/2 level.

For Topic, the students experimented with creating shadow puppets with their hands. They have also begun constructing a stage for their puppet show. The next step of the project is to write a script for their puppet show.
