Principal's Message

Book Week
We had a brilliant time during Book Week! It is a big week, with special activities, author visits and performances culminating in our Book Week parade. Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the joy, knowledge and skills reading brings us. Fostering a love of reading at an early is vital. We do this by building strong literacy skills in the early years of primary school. Once children are able to access these texts, their enjoyment of reading can flourish.
We appreciate the time and effort families put in to supporting this event, the enjoyment from the week would not be possible without this help.
Working Bee this Sunday
We are looking forward to the working bee coming up this Sunday from 10am until 1pm. This will be an exciting one, with much of the work being planting in the quadrangle, bike park area and along the Pearson St boundary. Many of the plants have been paid for by our Junior Land Care and Biodiversity Grant. Even if you are only able to come by for an hour, all help is appreciated.
Trivia night
We have an update regarding funds raised from the Parents and Friends run trivia night last Term. The profit from the evening came to $13,939.30, which is an outstanding result. These funds will go directly towards upgrading the Yellow Park playground. We are in the final stages of procuring a provider for the new playground, using the consultation conducted by the Junior School Council as our guide.
Whilst it is always pleasing to raise funds that support the school, the community engagement and connection forged from events such as the trivia night are more valuable. We are a strong and connected community, who achieve great things for our students. The school is very grateful for all who contributed to this event.
