Year 2 Echidnas and Platypus

To mark the exciting milestone of 100 days of school, our Year 2 students combined celebration with learning in a deliciously fun way—by making pizzas based on data they collected themselves!

As part of their Mathematics unit on data collection and graphing, students surveyed their classmates to find out their favourite pizza toppings. Each student had the opportunity to vote, and the results were carefully recorded and graphed using column graphs. This hands-on activity helped students understand how data can be gathered, organised, and used to make real-life decisions.

Once the results were in, students worked together to plan and prepare pizzas that reflected the most popular topping choices. From classic cheese and tomato to more adventurous options, the pizzas were a hit! The activity not only reinforced key numeracy skills but also encouraged communication and planning skills.

The celebration was a wonderful way to acknowledge the students’ hard work over the past 100 days, while also integrating curriculum learning in a meaningful and engaging way. The excitement and pride on their faces as they saw their data come to life—and tasted the results—was truly heartwarming.

Thank you to our parent helpers who supported this memorable learning experience.

Year 6 Brolgas and Emus

This term Year 6s, in our preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, have been  learning about this special Sacrament of initation, the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

We have been researching different Saints, how they inspire us in out lives and how they were influenced by the Holy Spirit to follow God. Our task was to turn our research into an autobiography and present our findings as a poster.

To assist us in our learning, in English we read and explored Roald Dahl's autobiography, "Boy: Tales of Childhood". We are also in the progress of making an iMovie about our Saint, from the first person point or view. We cannot wait to view our creative films at the end of Week 6. Term 3 has been ecstatic so far, full of great opportunities and fun activities!
