BSPS NOTICES

Choir

On Tuesday August 12th the BSPS Choir took part in the Boite Schools Chorus at the Melbourne Town Hall to celebrate 50 years of Timorese community in Australia. The Choir performed 8 songs almost exclusively in Tetum, the spoken language of Timor Leste performing to an audience of one thousand admiring music lovers and supporters. Frida Hardiford gave a short speech introducing some of the music. BSPS choristers got the chance to meet and make musical friends with singers from seven other schools across Melbourne in this 250-strong massed choir. The choir performed very well, with feedback resoundingly positive. This performance was the second given of two on the day, with Timorese President Jose Ramos-Horta attending the earlier performance.

The First Sing of Spring will be help on Friday Sept 5th 6-8pm on the green outside the BSPS Hall. A concert given by the 100 singing students across all years of BSPS. All families are welcome to come and enjoy our very own versions of hits by artists such as Coldplay, Olivia Rodrigo & Billie Eilish. There will be BBQs, Drinks and a cake stall - raising money for the school. Get a group of friends together, bring a rug, a picnic and enjoy a spring celebration of music at BSPS.
