Italian NewsZecchino D’Oro Choir Mentor Teacher Visits 

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Concetta Calgaro, COASIT’s Zecchino D’Oro Mentor Teacher, and Gisella Cozzo, Artistic Director, to BSPS.

On Monday, they worked with our Junior Choir on their song "Animal School", and on Thursday, they rehearsed with our Senior Choir on "Prendi un’emozione". It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our students' musical talent and celebrate their love for the Italian language and culture.

As a reminder, our Zecchino D’Oro Choirs will be performing at the Melbourne Italian Festa (MIF25) at the Royal Exhibition Building on Saturday 18th October and Sunday 19th October.

Dante Alighieri Poster Competition – Year 5 Students

We are excited to share that our Year 5 students will be participating in the Dante Alighieri Society of Melbourne’s annual Poster Competition, while our Year 6 students focus on creating their much-anticipated Grade 6 Yearbook.

The Poster Competition invites students learning Italian in Victorian primary schools and Community Language Schools (Doposcuola) to design an A3 poster based on this year’s theme, “In Vacanza” (On Holiday).

Entries will be judged by a panel of experienced educators and community leaders. The competition not only celebrates creativity but also supports interdisciplinary learning, with a strong emphasis on literacy development and visual expression.
