As we, 5A, proudly taking our final bow at the 2025 GWPS Production, we still remembered our learning from The Resilience Project and showed our School Values. Here are ways we demonstrated those learning:
TRP
- Eva: I’ve demonstrated Mindfulness and Empathy by deep breathing and helping my friends when the pre-show jitters got to them.
- Brian: I’ve applied mindful breathing to stay calm and focus during production.
- Dion: I’ve showed mindfulness by focusing on my dance moves and remembering to smile while performing.
- Leon: I’ve demonstrated Emotional Literacy strategies by thinking of my parents will be cheering for me and staying focussed.
- Rishi: I’ve applied mindful eating during dinner time so he can be ready and energised for the production.
- Khwaeesh: I’ve demonstrated Empathy by reminding my classmates to use deep breaths to calm their nerves.
- Riaan: I’ve demonstrated Mindfulness by being aware of who and what is around me and to react appropriately and accordingly to the situation
- Yuhas: I’ve demonstrated Mindfulness by using the deep breathing strategy to calm my nerves before going on the stage.
- Oliver: I’ve demonstrated the mindfulness breathing technique, square breathing, a minute before stepping on the stage.
- Neeraja: I’ve applied breathing strategies such as box breathing to keep me calm and focused.
- Tommy: I’ve applied finger breathing strategy to calm my nerves.
- Sean: I’ve demonstrated Mindfulness by focusing on my breathing to stay focused and calm.
- Manohar: I’ve applied mindfulness strategy to keep calm during production.
- Jared: I’ve applied mindful breathing to keep calm and focus while performing on stage.
- Thinuli: I’ve demonstrated Gratitude by thinking how lucky I was to be here on stage, I was extremely grateful that I could experience this one last time.
- Kylie: I’ve demonstrated Gratitude throughout the Production Day by saying ‘thank you’ to the bus driver who drove us to Robert Blackwood Hall, thanking my parents after they dropped me off and thanking teachers that I met throughout the day.
- Trisha: I’ve demonstrated Gratitude by giving compliments to teachers. In returns, I’ve got a warm smile from one of the teachers.
- Pranit: I’ve applied mindfulness strategies such as the finger breathing to keep me focused and calm.
- Joshua: I’ve demonstrated deep breathing to stay focused and calm.
- Nicholas: I’ve demonstrated Emotional Literacy during the Production by thinking of my happy thought, the cats, when I was nervous.
School Values
- Siddarth: I’ve demonstrated Empathy and Respect by saying good luck before the dance and compliment them afterwards.
- Bir: I’ve showed Integrity and Respect by being cooperative and following instructions.
- Jaden: I’ve demonstrated Respect during the production rehearsal by listening and watching others practice their items.
- Aadyah: I’ve demonstrated Global Empathy by checking in on someone and asking them “Are you okay?” as they looked nervous.
- Lesara: I’ve demonstrated Empathy by comforting my friend in the feature dance when they were feeling very nervous.
- Shayana: I’ve demonstrated Global Empathy by keeping my friends in positive mindsets so they won’t feel nervous or scared.
- Grace: I’ve demonstrated Respect by honoring the performers as I kept quiet while they perform and applauded afterwards.
And of course, our final shows would not go down without some highlights and proud moments. Here are some of our highlights and proud moments from the Production
- Singing and dancing at my last production at GWPS – Nicholas
- Singing and dancing the finale “Absolutely Everybody” with Grade 4s, 5s and 6s! – Shayana, Thinuli, Tommy, Oliver,
- Doing the Geronimo dance while trying to avoid my friend’s hands going into my face! – Joshua
- Preforming on stage while being with my friend. – Kylie
- Speaking confidently at the Junior Show (as the Speaking Cast). – Lesara
- “I did the best ‘Say Geronimo’ dance move!” – Sean
- “I was shaking, palms sweating as I grabbed the mic and held the note!” – Neeraja
- “I was very proud of my solo part!” – Aadyah
- “I loved the energy and the atmosphere on stage. It was electrifying, especially the final song!” – Riaan
- “Watching my sister’s dance in the Junior Show and having fun singing in my act.” – Siddarth
- “Seeing my parents’ smiling faces in the crowd. It made me feel proud and that all the hard work was worth it!” – Eva
- “I put my best effort into the dance moves even though dancing isn’t my thing.” – Jaden

- The Geronimo dance was my favourite dance, and it was my highlight of the production. – Brian
