The Arts

As the term continues, the Moriac students have consistently impressed me with their creativity and their curiosity. As the we reach the final weeks of the term, they have begun the final learning of the different units we have worked on together throughout the last few weeks.

Grades Prep-2

In Visual Arts, the Prep-2 students have used a range of different materials to create a variety of puppets, such as spoons, pipe cleaners, felt etc. They have even explored puppets from different parts of the world, such as Wayang Kulit shadow puppets from Indonesia and Malaysia. In Drama, the students have used puppets, including some they have made themselves, to create short performances. They have also collaborated with their peers when role playing.

Grades 3-6

In Visual Arts, the 3-6 students have continued to explore the elements of art, including colour, value and space. They have created art pieces that use perspective to give two dimensional objects the illusion of depth, and explored the relationship between colours. In Media Arts, students have completed the planning stage of their short films, and are now beginning to shoot their movies.

Thank you, and have a lovely weekend!
