Principals Message

Principal’s Message – Bullying. No Way! Week
Last week our school joined with others across Australia in the National Week of Action Against Bullying and Violence. The theme for 2025 was “Be Bold. Be Kind. Speak Up.” The theme was a powerful reminder that every one of us has a role to play in making our school a safe, respectful, and supportive place to learn.
Throughout the week, our students took part in a range of activities including the Kids Helpline anti-bullying lesson, daily class reflections, and the creation of our Anti-Bullying Handprint Pledge Wall, led by our Peer Mediators. The week finished with a sea of purple as we came together on Bullying. No Way! Dress in Purple Day 💜 to show our united stance.
I’m very proud to share that in the most recent Student Attitudes to School Survey, 83% of our Year 4–6 students said our school manages bullying well. This is above the state average of 76%, and higher than both our similar schools (75%) and network schools (77%). Looking at the past three years together, our average rises to 87%, showing that our efforts are consistent and sustained.
These results reflect the commitment of our staff, the leadership of our Peer Mediators, and the way our students and families work together to uphold our school values: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be a Learner.
Looking Ahead
While we are proud of these achievements, we also know there is always more to do. Even one student feeling bullied is one too many, and our goal is that every child at Trafalgar Primary feels safe, respected, and included.
Thank you to all students, staff, and families who supported Bullying. No Way! Week. Together, we are sending a clear message: Bullying has no place at Trafalgar Primary School.
Sincerely,
Cameron Nicholls
Principal
