Building House Spirit – Student Leadership in Action

Our 2025 House Captains have been showing true leadership as they work to redefine our house rewards structure, with the goal of building a stronger sense of house culture across the school. Through student voice and agency, the captains have been leading the way — collaborating with their peers to design vibrant new house banners and plan activities that bring their teams together.
With guidance and support from Keren Freeman, our House Captains are developing valuable leadership skills while fostering teamwork, inclusion, and school pride. During Team Time, teachers are actively supporting this initiative, encouraging all students to contribute and focus on key areas such as teamwork, participation, leadership, creativity, house spirit, behaviour and clean-up.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to take ownership of their house identity while learning the value of collaboration and positive leadership. We look forward to seeing their ideas come to life and to celebrating the creativity, pride, and teamwork that make our houses such an important part of our school culture.
Hi,
I’m Chloe, Blue house leader 2025. I try to make Blue House happy by doing something called Team Time. Team Time is an activity that we do in our house for an hour to build a connection with our house and the people around us. Some activities that we do in Team Time are art activities and games and the biggest thing we are working on is our house banner. The house banner will be a creation that we will all play a part in, using recycled materials and our creative skills.
Overall, as a house leader, personally, what I am trying to achieve is making Team Time one of the most memorable experiences for 2025 through having fun and building a strong team culture.
