Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,
The past two weeks have been filled with exciting events and wonderful opportunities for our students to learn, celebrate, and come together as a school community.
We kicked things off with our Book Week Parade, which was bursting with fun and colour as students proudly showcased their creative costumes inspired by favourite book characters. The celebrations continued with a special Book Week incursion, where illustrator Karen Erasmus shared her talent and passion for storytelling, inspiring our students to explore their own creativity.
Our Italian Day was another highlight, bringing the culture and language we are learning to life. Students enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch and gelati, while also taking part in engaging activities and another fun incursion to deepen their appreciation of Italian culture.
On the sporting front, our Grade 5/6 students represented our school with pride at the Basketball Lightning Premiership, showing not only great skill but also outstanding sportsmanship throughout the day.
We also gathered as a faith community for our Feast Day Mass, where we farewelled Father Chinua with gratitude and best wishes for the future.
It has truly been a fortnight of celebration, learning, and community spirit.
Influenza B Update
Over the past week, we have seen a number of students affected by Influenza B. While many children recover quickly, this strain can spread easily through schools, so we encourage families to be alert and proactive.
What to look out for:
- Sudden fever and chills
- Headache, body aches or fatigue
- Cough, sore throat, runny or blocked nose
- Sometimes nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea (more common in children)
If your child shows these symptoms, please keep them at home to rest and recover. This helps to reduce the spread of illness across our school community. Students should only return once they are fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication and well enough to participate in class.
To help protect your family and others, encourage regular handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and keeping unwell children at home.
We appreciate your support in keeping our school safe and healthy.
Show Grace, Be the joy for others and God Bless.
