Book Week Door Gallery Walk 

This year, we’re trying something new for our Literacy Open Morning!

Instead of parents observing a classroom lesson, we’ll be hosting a Book Week Door Gallery Walk across the school.

Here’s how it will work:

• Classrooms have decorated their external doors to reflect their chosen book (CBCA Shortlist titles, a current Literacy topic, or any much-loved story)
• On the Open Morning, students will begin the day in their classroom for roll marking as usual.
• Parents will meet in the school hall from 9am - 9:10am for a quick catch up.
• Parents will collect their child/ren from the classroom/s then go on a Gallery Walk  to visit all the decorated doors across the school until 9:45am.
• Students who's parent cannot attend will undertake the Gallery Walk with their classroom teacher
• Everyone will have the chance to vote for their favourite door, with a prize awarded to the winning class!

It’s a wonderful way to celebrate reading, creativity, and our school community – we can’t wait to see the amazing doors our students create!

The theme for this year is 'Book an Adventure!' We have some exciting activities planned -

Monday 18 August - Literacy Open Morning 9.05am to 9.30am

Wednesday 20 August - Book Week Dress Up Parade 9.15am.

Wednesday 20 August - Year 6 Book Sale Library Fundraiser. Books $1 to $10. 12 to 3pm

Friday 22 August - Author Visit, Adrian Beck (timetable below)

Our TPS Trivia night is on Friday 24 October from 7pm-11pm at the Toorak Park Pavilion.

Crackerjack Dad's Only Event - Tickets on QkR

Dad's, join us for a fun-filled evening to celebrate Father’s Day!

Date: Thursday 4th September  

Time: 5:00 pm – 11:00 pm  

Venue: Toorak Bowling Club, 9 Mandeville Crescent, Toorak

Tickets: $50 per person on OKR

Includes a welcome drink, taco dinner, lawn bowls, and a game of pool.

Additional drinks and tacos will be available for purchase on the night (cash preferred)

Father's Day Stall -Calling All Parent Helpers!

 We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand at our upcoming Father’s Day Stall on Friday 5th September. If you’re available to help out—even for a short time—please email Danielle Robinson at danielle@scouthgd.com.au. The stall will be running from 9am-3pm. All extra hands are very much appreciated to help make this a special and fun day for the kids!
