Catholic Identity

Prep Pilgrimage
This week our Prep students joined with the St Mary’s Preps for a very special Pilgrimage of Faith. The day began at St Mary’s Church, where Father Tom warmly welcomed the children. Together, they celebrated a liturgy, then took part in a scavenger hunt to discover sacred items within the church, before completing a Year of Jubilee craft activity that connected their learning to the wider Catholic Church.
The pilgrimage then continued at our own parish church, St Joseph’s, where Father Gallacher greeted the children. Here, they explored the similarities and differences between the two churches, asked thoughtful questions in a Q&A, and deepened their understanding of what it means to belong to a parish community.
The children also enjoyed listening to the story Wherever You Are by Meg Fox, reflecting on God’s presence in their daily lives. To conclude, they decorated hearts to gift to their St Mary’s Prep buddies — a simple yet meaningful gesture of friendship and connection between our two schools.
