NSW State Championships – Junior & Intermediate Teams

Congratulations to both our Junior and Intermediate teams who represented Brigidine at the NSW State Championships for Schools. Over the course of two days, both teams displayed outstanding commitment, teamwork, and resilience as they competed in nine tough games against strong opposition.

Their hard work and determination were rewarded as both teams earned their place in the State Final – an incredible achievement in itself. While they were narrowly defeated by two elite sports schools in the final, we could not be prouder of their efforts.

Finishing as State Runners-Up is a remarkable result and a testament to the dedication, spirit, and sportsmanship of our Brigidine athletes. Congratulations girls – you represented our school with pride!

Conference 1 Athletics Carnival

On Friday 21st August, the Brigidine Athletics team competed at Sydney Olympic Park in the Conference 1 Athletics Carnival. Despite the heavy rain, the girls showed outstanding commitment and determination across all events. Several school records were broken on the day, and we are delighted to share that nineteen athletes have qualified for the upcoming Sydney Championships. Congratulations to all competitors on an excellent achievement!

NAIDOC Spirit Shines at 2025 Country Championships

We're so proud to celebrate Bella Gibbon, who swam in the 2025 Swimming NSW NAIDOC Relays at the Country Championships in Sydney. These relays are a powerful way to honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their culture during NAIDOC Week.

The event brought together 30 swimmers from diverse First Nations communities across NSW, forming six mixed teams. Each team was named after a water animal in the Dharug language, a beautiful way to reflect the deep cultural significance of water and Country.

Bella's team, MUGURA (Fish), won both the 4x50m Freestyle and 4x50m Medley Relays. But the true spirit of the day was about much more than winning. The relays were a powerful showcase of unity, pride, and the strength of the next generation—a perfect tribute to the 2025 NAIDOC theme: "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy."

Bella has also done incredibly well at the recent New South Wales state championships, where she placed second in the 800-meter freestyle, and third in both the 200-meter freestyle and the 400-meter individual medley.
