Athletics Victoria Cross Country Championship
On Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of August, Milanke Haasbroek competed at the National Cross county championship. She placed 6th in the U14 2km race and the Victorian girls took home a silver medal for the team event (calculated by the top 3 girls crossing the line per state). She then ran up an age group in the U16, 2km relay and placed 4th, just a few seconds off the bronze medal.
SSV Track & Field Trials
On Monday 1st of September, we had 8 girls head to Melbourne to compete in the Victorian SSV State Track & Field championship. Our girls competed in great spirit and gave their very best!
Girls, we’re incredibly proud of you, the way you conduct yourself and just how beautifully you represent the school.
A huge congratulations to Milanke who will be selected for the State team to compete in the 800m & 1500m at the National Championship in November.
Catholic Athletics Sports
Yesterday, 75 students proudly represented St Francis at the Catholic Athletics Sports.
We witnessed so many fantastic performances — and even two new records! Congratulations to Milanke Haasbroek on breaking both the 800m and 1500m records.
What impressed us most, however, was the sportsmanship and kindness shown throughout the day. We were incredibly proud of the way our students conducted themselves. Well done to each and every competitor — we are so proud of your efforts!
A special congratulations to Milanke Haasbroek and Elliot Kelly, who were awarded our Year 6 Best Contributor medals.
A huge thank you to all the staff who assisted on the day — making sure our students were where they needed to be, when they needed to be, and for all the wonderful things you do in between.
Finally, we wish the very best of luck to our team of students who have now qualified to compete at the Divisional Championship in a couple of weeks!
SSV National Cross Country
All the best to Lyla Edwards who is off to the National championship this weekend. We look forward to hearing all about it. Go well!!
CheerCon VIC State Competition
On Saturday 23rd August, Madeline O'Keefe competed at the CheerCon VIC State Competition at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. Madeline’s team placed 3rd in their section.
