Parish Mass Invitation
Next Thursday, 17th October, Years 1, 2 and 11 students will be attending the 9.15am Parish Mass. Families are warmly invited to attend Mass with our students.
Year 12 Celebration Day Assembly
Our Year 12 Celebration Day Assembly will be held next Friday, 18th October at 12.10pm in the Brigidine Centre.
Grandparents and Special Friends Day
We look forward to seeing and celebrating our grandparents, special friends and families at our Foundation - Year 11 Grandparents and Special Friends Day Mass at 9.15am on Thursday 24th October in the Brigidine Centre. Details of the day's events including Foundation - Year 8 classroom activities and morning tea following Mass, were sent to families via Operoo in September.
Please remember to RSVP by Wednesday 16th October via Operoo if you will be joining us on the day.
Photos
We invite families to contribute photos of students with their grandparents and special friends by emailing them to grandparents@sakyabram.vic.edu.au to be shared on this special day.
Italian Day
We will be celebrating all things ITALIAN on Tuesday 22nd October for Foundation to Year 6 students.
- Students and staff are invited to dress in Italian colours or as a famous Italian person.
- Our Canteen will be providing yummy Italian food (pizza/pasta) for the day.
- Italian colouring activities in the Library at lunchtime.
- GOLD COIN donation to be tossed into our mock 'Trevi Fountain' (all proceeds go to the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project).
St Augustine's Years 5-12 Writing Competition
It is that time of the year again for our annual St Augustine's Writing Competition!
This year's competition is open to students from Years 5 to 12. The prompt this year is "Sky above me. Earth below me. Fire within me. For I am, reborn."
You can submit any type of written text!
Some examples are:
- persuasive
- reflective
- narrative
- poetry
- a song you've written
Each student can enter once.
Entries will be judged by a mix of teachers and winners will receive a prize!
SUBMISSIONS CLOSE: Friday 22nd November (Week 7). Submit your entry using this Google Form:

Congratulations to our first SOLE Stars for Term 4.
Arts and Design Technology Showcase
Have you started working on your entry?
The Arts and Design Technology Learning Area have been busy preparing for our annual Arts and Design Technology Showcase event to be held in Week 5 of this term.
The event will be held in the Brigidine Centre and will be open to the public on Thursday 31st October from 6.00-8.00pm.
This exhibition will showcase student work from Foundation to Year 12 and will include pieces that have been designed, manufactured and created in Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design, Media, Technology Wood and Metal, Food Technology and Performing Arts.
This year our Arts and Design Technology showcase will be opened by local artist, Marion Langford. Marion has over two decades of experience as a talented artist working with oils and acrylics and more recently, ceramic and sculpture.
We look forward to welcoming Marion to our College and hearing more about her career and art work when she joins us on the evening.
So, how do I enter the 2024 Arts and Design Technology Showcase?
There are two ways to enter your work in the Showcase.
1. Your teacher will select work created in class.
2. You can enter work completed outside of the classroom in one or more of the following categories:
- Collaborative entry (get a group of friends together and create something spectacular)
- Individual creations of any media (paper, mixed media, wood, glass, metal, photography, Lego etc.)
Entries must be submitted to your teacher by Friday 18th October.
