End-of-Term Faction Reward

At the close of Term 2, students from Nairn Faction took part in the End of Term Faction Reward!

They were rewarded with movies, sports, and drawings, with icy poles!

Congratulations to Nairn for collecting the most tokens, and CONGRATULATIONS to all students who have achieved a GROW award and contributed to their Faction’s overall tally. Overall there were 600+ awards received by students this term!

GROW Awards are awarded to students weekly across the school. Each one adds to their Faction’s overall tally in the form of a coloured token to match their faction. Students aim to be the leading faction to secure the End of Term Faction Reward!

Body Awareness Focus

Students this term have been learning about Body and Spatial Awareness as part of the new curriculum written by the school’s PBS & OHS committees. In response to the growing number of accidents in Semester One, we identified a need to provide additional support for students.

There were 10 sequential lessons looking at identifying hazards, using equipment safely, playing safely with others, preventable and unpreventable injuries, responding to others who are not playing safely and reflections when accidents and injuries happen.

We are hoping the lessons begin to promote student responsibility towards safety at school, and importantly reduce the number of accidents. Parents and carers play an important role in this space, and any conversations with your child about the new curriculum will no doubt support them as they reflect on the lessons.
