The Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee is a free online competition run by the KidsNews website every year. It is designed to improve students’ vocabulary and to help students learn to spell in a fun environment. There are three levels: Green for Years 3-4, Orange for Years 5-6 and Red for Years 7-8.
This term, Cheltenham East Primary School has participated in this competition and the Spelling Bee champion of each grade was:
Three of our C.E.P.S. students – Shlok P. (3B), Dario C. (4C) and Billy B. (4C) – all made it through to the Victorian state final of the competition. What an amazing achievement for these three super spellers!
Earlier this term, CEPS sent four teams of four girls from Years 4-6 to compete in the MathsMinds competition.
The MathsMinds competition is a unique event, hosted by Mentone Girls’ Grammar School, which is designed to provide girls with an engaging platform to immerse themselves in higher-level activities while collaborating with like-minded peers. Through a series of fun, interactive and intellectually stimulating activities, designed to push the boundaries of the girls’ mathematical knowledge and skills, MathsMinds aims to challenge the participants to think creatively, analyse problems critically and devise innovative solutions.
Our students represented C.E.P.S. in a positive manner and enjoyed facing challenges together on the day.
Today was Footy Day and all the students proudly displayed their team colours. Tara conducted a poll to determine the most supported team and here are the results.
