Stage 3 Olympic Games
2024 Bong Bong Olympic Games
After much preparation, research, planning and effort, yesterday Stage 3 competed in their own Olympic games. During their research the students were asked to pick a town to compete in. They chose Bong Bong as they thought no one would have heard of it.
Students were paired and each represented a different country. The Official Organiser and Commentator for the day, the Honourable Mr Pratt, announced each country with some facts the athletes had researched along with flags they created.
Lucinda then ran the torch through the crowd and lit the cauldron to officially open the 2024 Bong Bong Olympic Games.
It was time to enter the arena and compete in Javelin, Gumboot Tossing, Fencing, Discus & 3 Legged Running Races, before heading to aquatics for Sailing.
Competitors were responsible for measuring and recording their results.
The VIP Delegates arrived after their journey from the Kinder classroom with Ambassadors Mrs Brady & Mrs Huard to cheer on our competitors and watch the amazing sportsmanship on display!
The 2024 Bong Bong Olympic Games concluded with the presentation of medals, handmade by the students. Thank you to Her Excellency, Mrs Corbett, fresh from touring Paris, for presenting the medallions.
At the end of each event presentation, the National Anthem of the winning country was played as the flags were raised in celebration.
Congratulations to the winning country, Spain, who was represented by Archie & Ivy!
All your countries would be very proud of your efforts. Thank you to our visitors for attending and supporting our fun Olympic Games.
