German Cooking Incursion

Student Reflection

Friday last week, during sessions 1 and 2 our class got to go and make German pretzels. We made large soft ones, and we were able to choose if we wanted to have them with cinnamon or salt and herbs for either a sweet or savoury taste. We partnered up with the Year 12 students, we made the pretzel dough from the flour and sugar, went through the process of letting the dough rest and soak it in its pretzel bath. We then finally sprinkled them with cinnamon or herbs and placed them in the oven. After the pretzels had finished cooking and turned golden, we let them cool and dug in. The taste of both the sweet and savoury was amazing and is definitely something I'd like to make again.

Enterprising People

Market Day

Our Year 9 students in their Enterprising People class put on a Market Day for our College. Managing everything from planning their products, creating them and then selling the product was all up to our students.  Baked goods, spiders, desserts and many more yummy foods were sold. The event was an absolute hit and there was $1,724 taken in sales, with all profits going to charity.
