Year 8 Resilience Camp

The Year 8 Resilience Camp at Camp Coolamatong was an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impact on all students. The camp was designed to foster resilience and respect, key qualities for students as they navigate the challenges of adolescence. The Reach Foundation played a pivotal role by conducting workshops that focused on building respect and resilience. These workshops gave students some tools to develop their emotional strength, improve their relationships, and understand the importance of treating others with kindness and empathy.

In addition to the workshops, a series of adventure activities further encouraged the development of resilience. From team-building exercises to individual challenges, each activity was designed to push students out of their comfort zones, teaching them how to persevere, adapt, and work together as a team. The thrill of the activities, such as abseiling, canoeing, and low ropes, provided valuable lessons in overcoming obstacles, managing fear and fatigue, and developing confidence in their abilities. The supportive and encouraging environment allowed students to reflect on their own strengths and areas for growth.
