Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

End of term is here.  It has certainly been a wonderful term with lots to celebrate and we look forward to term 4.

Parent/Teacher conferences

Tonight we start our face-to-face Parent/Teacher conferences and follow with online conferences tomorrow.  These conferences are a great opportunity for families to have a chat with teachers to celebrate their student's progress and identify any areas for growth. Our staff have spent a lot of time preparing and look forward to meeting with you.  Please make sure that your child is in attendance for the chat, they are in fact the topic of conversation.

VCE Leadership Awards

A huge congratulations to our College Captain Taj who was shortlisted for the VCE Leadership Awards.

The VCE Leadership Awards recognise VCE and VCE Vocational Major students’ important and innovative community work, and highlight examples of exemplary leadership. Nominees may participate in activities associated with the arts, sport, debating and public speaking. They may campaign for social justice, environmental protection or fundraising.

The 2024 VCE Leadership Awards ceremony was held at Treasury Theatre on Friday 13th September 2024.  Taj attended the ceremony along with his parents and Assistant Principal Jacqui Telford.  It was a very proud moment for everyone involved.  Below is an extract of the submission for Taj's nomination:

Tajwyn has played a pivotal role in significant school events, including rewriting and presenting at the Reconciliation Assembly to share a stronger message of equality, and actively participating in ANZAC Day ceremonies. As Music Captain, he has led Senior Bands at the Merimbula Jazz Festival and East Gippsland Music Festival, earning the Hay-Smith Music Scholarship for his dedication. Tajwyn has chaired the Student Representative Council and led change to integrate student voice into the leadership structure. He has applied for the 2024 Parliament Prize, focusing on reconciliation and the Voice to Parliament. Tajwyn is an empathetic and approachable leader who inspires his peers to excel.
