Dear Boarding Parents and Guardians,
Ā
The winter sports season is always a busy one and this year was no exception with boarders taking part in football, basketball, hockey, rugby and soccer for both College and community-based clubs. Over the past few weeks, the boys have been part of finals teams, with several proudly showing off grand final winning medals.
Last Sunday after Mass we farewelled Fr Bill Ousley who has been an integral part of the boarding community over the last few years. Father Bill will soon be leaving Mazenod to return to Queensland. We thank him for his commitment to the boys, his pastoral and spiritual guidance, and his wonderful storytelling. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavours!
The Year 12 Boarders are preparing to leave Cebula House, some for the last time with the culmination of a six-year boarding journey. It has been heartwarming to hear the boys speak so positively about their time and the wonderful lifelong connections and friendships that have been created.
This week we were able to share in the boys' last dining room visit, enjoy their choice of menu for the night and watch them welcomed into the building with a guard of honour. Ā Our blessings and good wishes go with this fine group of Mazenod young men as they embark on the next exciting chapter of their lives.
We wish all the boys a fantastic holiday break and look forward to Term 4 and the boarding house reopening on Monday, 7 October at 3:00 pm.
