Debutante Ball

Excitement is building for our Debutante Ball next Tuesday at The Woolshed.

Seven of our students will be partnered up with members of our community.

We look forward to sharing the Deb video with our school community in the next newsletter.

Camp Kookaburra

Upper Middle Years' students have this afternoon returned from their trip to Camp Kookaburra in Corop. Thanks to the staff and students who made this such a huge success.

Highlights of the camp will be posted to our Facebook page prior to the end of term.

Whooping Cough

Whooping cough cases are continuing to increase across Victoria, particularly among school-aged children. Whooping cough is a very contagious infection, mostly spread through coughing or sneezing.

Symptoms include:

  • blocked or runny nose
  • tiredness
  • mild fever
  • severe bouts of coughing, often followed by a ‘whooping’ sound on breathing.

Whooping cough can lead to life threatening infections in babies. If your child is unwell, they should not attend school. Please see a doctor if you or your child develops whooping cough symptoms.  Early diagnosis and treatment will help reduce the spread of the infection.

Students diagnosed with whooping cough must not attend school.

If your child is diagnosed with whooping cough, they must not attend school for 21 days after the onset of the cough, or until they have received 5 days of antibiotic treatment. You must notify the school if your child is diagnosed with whooping cough.

Coffee Machine Donation

Verney Road School is incredibly grateful for the donation of a brand new coffee machine!

Jillian & Judi from the Kiwanis Club of Shepparton visited to look at the VRS Coffee Shop in full swing and our Senior Years' students got to showcase their great baristas skills.

They were very impressed with the operations!

40 Years of The Apprenticeship Factory

Congratulations to The Apprenticeship Factory on an incredible milestone – 40 years of dedicated service to businesses and our local community!

Verney Road School has had the privilege of collaborating with The Apprenticeship Factory for over a decade, hosting dozens of trainees. Many of whom have gone onto further study and are still part of our team today!

In 2019, we were honored to be named 'Host Employer of the Year' at their awards night, a recognition that highlights the strength of our partnership.

We look forward to continuing this valued relationship, supporting even more trainees on their teaching pathways, and celebrating many more years of success and growth together.

Respectful Behaviours within the School Community

At Verney Road School, we are committed to fostering a positive and respectful environment for all.

As part of this commitment, we support the Victorian Government's Respectful Behaviours within the School Community policy, which promotes kindness, inclusion, and respect in our interactions.

This policy helps ensure that our school is a safe and welcoming place for students, staff, and families. We encourage everyone in our community to familiarise themselves with the policy and work together to uphold these values.

Enjoy your weekend 😀
