Curricular Arts News

Mrs Christine Larsen

On Monday 17 June  (Week 10), the Arts faculty will be presenting a selection of music and drama performances, video screenings and an exhibition of artworks straight from our classrooms to showcase our talented Year 7 – 10 Arts students. The showcase will take place in the Draney Theatre from 6:00pm and all are welcome.

We would like to congratulate our recent “Artwork of the Month” winners. For the month of March, joint winners Adhithya Sudheesh and Nick Thornhill, both in Year 7, created colourful and skillfully crafted ceramic plates inspired by Aztec Design, as part of the Year 7 Visual Art unit, focused on “Culture and Symbols.”  We also had joint winners for April, with Will Eaton and Tim Henderson in Year 10, who developed intricate mixed media artworks which commenced as a photo that was digitally manipulated using the “Tiny Planet” app and taken during a class visit to Enoggera Creek. Congratulations to all winners for their focus and skill in developing these artworks.
