Year Three/Four News 

Local Excursion

In Week 7 of Term 2, Year 3 / 4 students will be using the Miners Rest Heritage Trail to investigate Miners Rest's local history.  They will have the opportunity to see landmarks that have shaped the local area.  This will connect to our Humanities topic of Local History and Cultures.

Reading focus

Our 3 / 4 students have been doing some amazing learning in our literacy block.  During our Reading sessions we have been exploring the characters from Roald Dahl novels. We have had fun reading about Mr Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Mr Twit from The Twits, Miss Trunchbull from Matilda and Aunt Sponge from James and the Giant Peach. We have learnt how to identify a character’s appearance, behaviours and speech to then identify a character’s traits. 

Our Year 4 students and staff headed off to camp this morning!  We look forward to hearing about their amazing experience on their return on Friday!
