Roses Gap Year 5 Camp

Monday 13th May – Wednesday 15th May

Students attending the Roses Gap Recreation Centre participated in a wide variety of planned small group activities, as well as enjoying some time together as a Year 5 cohort. Students challenged themselves and encouraged their peers to achieve personal goals and set targets.  They worked in pairs or individually, through to small groups to support each other in words and actions over the three days. Activities included: crate stacking, abseiling, bushwalking, giant swing, flying fox, canoeing and low ropes course.

Students also sat around a camp fire and participated in a ‘yarning circle’ where they shared personal achievements and/or highlights with the rest of the group.  Duty groups also ensured that the dining room was maintained to a high standard. Students enjoyed seeing a variety of animals up close such as kangaroos, kookaburras and even some emus in the distance. It was lovely to see so many students building new friendships with others as well as getting to know the Year 5/6 teachers, Kyra and Narelle a little better!
