LANGUAGE CENTRE

DEBATING

Students in the Language Centre have been studying topics related to our planet Earth and how to make changes to protect our fragile world.

They have been learning how to write persuasively and also present their ideas as speeches. This week they formed teams, researched and prepared their talks for the affirmative or negative side on the topics: ‘We should stop selling petrol and diesel cars now’  or ‘Plastics should be banned worldwide’.

They have learnt how to express their opinions and points of view, using evidence to support their statements. Students worked hard in their groups and the debates were very interesting.
