DEBATING
Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of accompanying three of BSC’s debating teams to Brighton Grammar for the final round of debating this semester.
We were represented by two Year 12 A-grade teams consisting of Harleen, Anastasia and Gavi in Team 1, and Isla, Michaela and Adele in Team 2.
The A-grade teams were required to arrive one hour before the debate and given a mystery topic to research and prepare in this very short timeframe. The mystery topic was that “people under 30 should be given more than one vote”.
Both teams argued very convincingly and Team 2 came away with the win against Brighton Grammar!!!!! Well done to Isla, Michaela and Adele!
Our school was also well represented by our Year 9 team consisting of Scout, Isabella, Sophie and Indea-Bleu. The girls spoke very well on the topic of “Should we implement online voting in Australia?”. The girls prepared thoroughly but didn’t win this time.
All our debaters show huge initiative and motivation attending these debating evenings, and represent our school proudly. Keep up the good work team!!!!!
