2ND ROUND OF YEAR 10 MOCK INTERVIEWS

On Wednesday 15th May, we hosted the 2nd round of Year 10 student Mock Interviews which our Interim Principal, Anne Stout joined as an Interviewer.

Here are a few words from our Interviewers and Year 10 Students:

Jo Kwok | Rotary Club of Brighton

“When I was at high school, unfortunately I wasn’t provided with the ‘how to’ best go about applying for jobs, what to put in a resume or what was expected at interview. The mock interviews were a great opportunity to be able to provide advice and direction to these young people on how to put their best foot forward as they begin their job seeking journey. Hopefully this will enable the Year 10 students to take the first steps in their career with greater confidence.”  Jo Kwok ( Interviewer)

"The interview was really pleasant! To be honest, I was a bit nervous before I stepped into the door. But the interviewer Jo was quite kind and patient so that we had relaxing  atmosphere.  She read my resume and cover letter carefully and told me how to make it better, that helped me a lot to improve my resume. We also talked about my experience and personalities, the whole interview was really lovely even if we considered it as a formal one. Thank you to everyone that helped us to have the successful interview!"

"This week our school had an amazing opportunity with local community members hosting mock interviews with all the year 10 students. These interviews allowed students to practice a real-life interview with constructive feedback provided to help students improve. The interviews helped students gain confidence, communication skills and understand what employers are looking for in future candidates. These mock interviews not only enhanced our readiness for future job opportunities, but also provided us with an amazing learning opportunity. We are grateful to the organisers and the interviewers for their time in making this experience a success."

"I felt that the mock interviews were a really good way to gain experience on what real job interviews would be like, and to ensure we are prepared. All of the interviewers were very friendly and helpful in regards to giving us feedback on our cover letters, resumes and the interview itself, so we all knew what we needed to improve on. The interview was quite relaxed as our interviewers asked a couple of questions about our interests, strengths and weaknesses, and also gave us advice on our careers and goals. Overall, the mock interviews were a great opportunity to practice and become better prepared for future job interviews."
