Magic Beach 

Students in Years 3 and 4 have been 'raising the volume' on Word Choice every week during Writing. Firstly, we wrote a story about 'the beach', then we read The Magic Beach by Alison Lester. To help the students to think more creatively about their choice of words, they have created Writers' Notebook pages for the 5 senses - see, hear, touch, smell and taste, of what they experience at the beach. After we have completed Writers' Notebook pages for all the senses, students will then write another story about 'the beach' using their brainstorms and 'bumping up' their choice of words.
