Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Celebrating the Diverse Learning Opportunities at Holy Family

As we journey through this term, it is with great pride that we reflect on the wonderful opportunities available to our students at Holy Family. Our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals is evident in the diverse activities and programs we offer our students, spanning from Mission and Stewardship, Continuous Learning Improvement, Creative & Practical Arts, Sports and Wellbeing. We are proud of the vibrant community we have cultivated and the opportunities we provide for our students to grow and excel.

Mission & Stewardship: St. Vincent de Paul's Winter Sleepout

Our aim is for students to understand the importance of social responsibility and giving back to the community. Our Winter Sleepout next Friday evening is a testament to this commitment. This event aims to raise awareness about homelessness and support those in need. It is heartening to see our students and families actively participating in such initiatives, embodying the values of compassion and witness.

Continuous Learning Improvement

Systematic delivery of curriculum is at the heart of our educational philosophy. This term, we have seen impressive improvements in our Stage 3 students' debating skills. Students have engaged in structured debates to enhance their critical thinking and public speaking skills and to gain a deeper understanding of various topics. Thank you to the parents who have generously transporting teams to various schools during the competition.

Our whole school focus on writing has yielded remarkable results. Through targeted initiatives "Quick Wins" and explicit instruction, students are developing strong oral and written language skills, which are essential for their academic and personal growth. Our teachers meet weekly with Mrs Edwards through Collaborative Coaching sessions to analyse data, plan and prepare lessons, catering for individual differences to drive student improvement through a sharp focus on teaching and learning practices.

Creative Arts: "Mermaid Magic and the Climate Crusaders"

Tonight, we look forward to an exceptional musical performance, that promises to be a highlight of our term. This event showcases the incredible talents of our students and the dedication of our teachers. We believe in providing a platform for students to express themselves creatively, whether through music, drama, or visual arts, fostering confidence and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Sincere thanks to Mrs McNally who has shared her creative writing skills and is the author of the musical, "Mermaid Magic and the Climate Crusaders" and Mrs Nash and the class teachers who have supported the students to learn the songs and lines.

During the school assembly in week 8, our amazing band will have the opportunity to perform and showcase their musical talents. We look forward to hearing their music.

Sporting Achievements: Athletics Carnival and Tag Gala Days

Sports play a crucial role in the physical development of our students. Our K-Year 6 school athletics carnival next Friday, will be an opportunity for our students to demonstrate not only their athletic abilities but also their sportsmanship and team spirit. Additionally, the upcoming tag gala days provide another exciting opportunity for our students to engage in healthy competition, build camaraderie, stay active and network with students from other schools.
