Dear Parents / Carers
St Anthony of Padua
St Anthony of Padua (born Fernando Martins de Bulhões) was born in Lisbon, Portugal in
1195. He was a friar of the Franciscan Order. He was Canonised as a saint on 20 May 1232, less than a year after his death. St Anthony is known as the most miraculous saint and has been credited with many miracles. He is considered a patron saint of lost or stolen items.
St Anthony is often pictured with the infant Jesus in his arms, it is believed that Jesus appeared to St Anthony in child form near the end of his life. The lily he holds is a symbol of purity.

RE Fundraising for Term 2
The Religious Education fundraising initiative for Term 2 is to support the Jesuit Refugee Service. The Jesuit Refugee Service is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve, and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons, that they may heal, learn, and determine their own future.
We are inviting families to donate $5 per child for the Jesuit Refugee Service on Monday 17 June (Week 8). Students are to wear mufti and will participate in a cultural 'Dance Around the World' lesson with REDed, experiencing a variety of dances from different countries. Please support this fundraising event for Term 2.
Kind Regards
May God’s blessings be with you,
Mrs Leanna Langlands
