Mini Ping-Pong-A-Thon

To Combat Modern-Day Slavery

During Term 2, our Year 9 Christian Studies students engaged in an insightful study on justice. Their learning concluded with a meaningful and energetic event on Thursday June 6, when they picked up their ping-pong bats to raise money, joining the Aussie movement to help fight modern-day slavery.

Our students not only had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition but also contributed to a global cause that resonates deeply with the vales of justice and compassion they have been studying. Through gold coin donations, the year level raised $72, which will be sent to Samaritan’s Purse, an organisation that works to reach the most vulnerable through their programs.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students for their involvement, showing that young people can be powerful advocates for change and a reflection of the heart-beat of God.

The Ping-Pong-A-Thon was incredible! It was so much fun competing against the other classes all for a good cause. After speaking with many friends they all agree that it was an eye opening experience that even playing ping pong and donating a dollar or two can go so far and help out so many people.
