Term 2

Hawthorn Football Club Visit

Mullum was treated by a very special visit from Hawthorn on Tuesday 28 May.

James Sicily (HAWTHORN CAPTAIN), Ned Reeves and Seamus Mitchell spoke to our Grade 3 & 4 students and answered many of their questions before signing jumpers and beanies.

This is what we found out:

James Sicily – as a kid he played a lot of tennis and cricket and used to ride horses then progressed to motor bikes – they were cheaper to run/keep. He started playing Aus Kick at 6 or 7 years old and spent a lot of time kicking a ball around with friends.  Now he likes playing golf and spending time with his young family. He has played 140 games over his 11 year AFL career. As a kid he barracked for the Bulldogs.

Ned Reeves – is studying Economics while he plays AFL. As a young person he played a lot of tennis.  He has been playing AFL for six years and developed an interest in footy through his uncle and grandfather.  Ned is 210cms tall (6ft 11’).

Seamus Mitchell – enjoys playing some golf and likes to relax on his rest day. He used to play cricket and tennis as a kid.  He started playing footy when he joined Aus Kick and progressed to squads.  He has played 21 AFL games.
