Sports Canteens - Saturday 21 February

Following the AGM last night the call for volunteers for sports canteens will occur on a weekly year level roster.

The roster for Saturday 21 February is Year 5 and Year 10

If you have a son playing sport in Year 5 or Year 10, please sign up for an hour of canteen service using the links below. You can help at any canteen, at any time across the day.

Please ensure you have completed your volunteer declaration form before you sign up. It takes 1-2 minutes and only needs to be completed once.

Sports Canteens Volunteer Co-ordinator

The P&F are still looking for a parent volunteer to co-ordinate the weekly call for volunteers across AIC fixtured weeks. The role can easily be broken down by sport (all teams and canteens associated with that sport), or by term.

Support is available to bring a new person/s come up to speed with the role. Please note that where there are insufficient volunteers to keep a canteen running the MCA catering staff will simply open that canteen late, or close it early on the day. You will not be left to solve for this on Saturday.

Please reach out to the P&F if you would like to discuss further.

Marist Card and Games Day

The P&F will be hosting our next Marist Card and Games Day on Wednesday 25 February.

The Card & Games Day is a community event held in the Br Cyprian Pavilion where attendees (typically retirees) bring friends to enjoy a day of playing cards (e.g. Bridge), Mahjong, Scrabble or other board games while savouring morning tea provided by Marist families and lunch provided by the College kitchen.

To make these days a success, the P&F needs parent helpers to assist with baking or supplying items for morning tea and/or attending on the day to set up and serve our guests.

If you can assist with sweet or savoury baked goods (homemade or store-bought), they can be dropped off at the Br Cyprian Pavilion from 8:00am (or sent in with your son). Disposable containers are preferred but other containers will be sent back to Student Administration if not collected on the day (please ensure your name is on all containers). Please either pre‑cut items or ensure that they can be cut into bite-size pieces.

Volunteers for the day are needed for the following sessions:

  • 8:00am – 10:30am – setup and serve morning tea
  • 11:30am – 1:30pm – setup and serve lunch
  • 2:00pm – 2:30pm – final clean-up and pack down

Volunteers are most welcome to assist for all or part of the day.  It is a great way to meet other parents from many different year levels as well as contributing to an enjoyable day for guests from the community.

If you are able to help by baking/supplying items for morning tea or assisting on the day, please contact Sue Hartfiel (0423 076 603) or Amy Hammon (0416 501 417) at email: CardDayPandF@marash.qld.edu.au.
