As we reach the end of week five, we find ourselves already halfway through the term. The weeks have been full of energy, learning and opportunity, and it has been wonderful to see our students embracing both the academic and co-curricular life of the College with enthusiasm.

There is much still to come this term:

  • Summer Sports will take place next week. We wish all students involved the very best as they represent our school with pride, teamwork and good sportsmanship. Thank you to the staff who have dedicated their time to coaching the teams.
  • NAPLAN is approaching for year 7 and 9 students. We encourage students to approach these assessments with confidence, simply doing their best and recognising that these tests are just one part of their learning journey.
  • Our Year 12 VM Camp is also coming up. This will be a valuable opportunity for students to build independence, strengthen relationships and further develop their vocational and personal skills.

Alongside these events, our classrooms continue to be places of rich learning, growth and curiosity. We encourage all students to make the most of every opportunity presented to them.

Staff Professional Learning Day – March 19

Please note that the scheduled Staff Professional Learning Day on March 19 has been postponed due to the availability of presenters. This date will now be a normal school day, and all students are expected to attend as usual. We will communicate the new date once it has been confirmed.

Attendance and Punctuality

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for success. Every lesson counts. Students are expected to be at school by 8:45am each day to ensure they are on time and prepared for Homeroom. Arriving on time sets a positive tone for the day, minimises disruption to learning, and reinforces the importance of responsibility and commitment.

We ask for the continued support of families in reinforcing these expectations. When students attend consistently and arrive punctually, they place themselves in the best possible position to thrive academically, socially and spiritually.

Farewell to Antonette Portbury

This week we sadly farewell Antonette Portbury. We thank her sincerely for her contribution to our school community and the care she has shown to our students. We wish her every blessing in her future endeavours.

Arrangements will be put into place to ensure continuity of learning as we continue our search for the right teacher to take her place. We are committed to finding a staff member who will continue to support and inspire our students.

We are now in the sacred season of Lent, a time of reflection, prayer and renewal within our Catholic tradition. Lent invites us to pause, to examine our hearts, and to consider how we can grow closer to God through acts of compassion, forgiveness and service.

As a school community, we encourage our students to embrace this season thoughtfully — whether through prayer, acts of kindness, supporting others, or contributing to charitable works. It is a time to refocus on what truly matters and to live out our values with intention.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support. The second half of the term promises to be just as full and rewarding as the first. May we continue to work together to nurture the gifts and potential of every young person in our care.
